Our Springador Pepper has been receiving various pain relief therapies for over 3 years, following cruciate ligament surgery on both knees, and being diagnosed with bilateral elbow dysplasia all before the age of 2.  

Although she is largely enthusiastic and energetic at home, her reluctance to walk and obvious discomfort at times have led us to be open to alternative pain relief suggestions. Having previously received laser treatment and physiotherapy, Pepper currently benefits from weekly hydrotherapy pool sessions, and it was from here that the suggestion of acupuncture as a further level of pain control was made. 

Dan treats Pepper weekly at our home where she is most relaxed and comfortable. Each session is tailored to give her the greatest benefit depending on how she is at the time. She is always extremely happy to see Dan and settles down quickly. 

Pepper is always very relaxed during the treatment and is often asleep before Dan finishes inserting the tiny needles. She then snoozes for the next 20-30 minutes until the needles are removed, unconcerned during the entire procedure.  

Over the period during which Dan has been treating Pepper we have seen a positive change in her demeanour, and her enthusiasm can sometimes be accompanied by longer, more interesting walks.  

As a young dog she wants to be active but is heavily restricted by what her legs will allow her to do, so an increase in brighter spells and more active periods has been extremely beneficial to her.
